La visual artist Clara Luiselli, in occasione di questa edizione di
ArtDate proporrà, negli spazi dell’ALT di Alzano Lombardo, la
performance Awakening cap. II, una sostanziale rivisitazione
dell’omonima azione realizzata lo scorso anno.
Nei lavori di
quest’artista si integrano la dimensione dell’installazione con quella
performativa grazie alla presenza della figura umana che spesso
interagisce con lo spazio lasciando degli oggetti simbolici al termine
dell’azione. Ciò che davvero è importante nella poetica dell’artista è
l’indagine della “linea di confine tra il visibile e l’invisibile”, da
qui la scelta di coinvolgere come attori di questa performance delle
donne, come figure lunari, portatrici dell’intuito. Anche l’uso di
oggetti carichi di una forte tradizione iconografica e simbolica diventa
un aspetto caratterizzante di questa performance. Troviamo quindi un
dialogo tra oggetti cavi come la campana e il guscio della lumaca che a
sua volta comunica con la terra che, con un gioco di contrasti, cade dal
cielo.
The visual artist Clara Luiselli is presenting for ArtDate at ALT in Alzano Lombardo the performance Awakening chap. 2, a substantial reworking of her previous work of the same name. In Luiselli’s works installation and performance complement one another thanks to the human presence that often interacts with the space leaving some symbolic objects at the end of the action.
The important thing in the artist’s thought insight is the research on “the border line between the visible and the invisible”. Hence she chose to use as actors some women, as moon figures, intuition-carriers. The usage of the objects with an important iconographic tradition is a characterising feature of this performance.
It is possible to find a dialogue between empty objects as the bell and the snail shell communicating with the soil. The snail shell, however, falls from the sky originating in this way a contrast.
The bell, the symbol of this performance, is conceived as a silent object that livens up after its fall and triggers a kind of dance-ritual as the dervish one.
The title Awakening refers to the nature, which is represented by elements like the cyclic nature (of the performance in this case), the repetition and the link with the earth mediated by rituals as the ringing of the bells. The performance is presented Friday 15th May at 6.oo pm.
